About Us
Inspires empowers people worldwide to discover and share their stories through creative projects, education, and global collaborations, blending heartfelt mentorship with meaningful cross-cultural impact.
Our Mission
To empower girls worldwide to share and shape their own stories, fostering confidence, creativity, and global connection
Inspires was born from a journey across cultures—sparked by helping girls in India share their stories, and fueled by a mission to build empathy and celebrate diversity during a time of deep racial division in the U.S. Today, we create spaces, projects, and resources that empower people of all ages to tell their own stories and inspire change.
Our Values
-
We believe every person—especially girls and underrepresented voices—deserves the tools and confidence to share their story. Empowerment transforms self-belief into lasting change.
-
By listening deeply to others’ experiences, we create understanding that bridges cultures, backgrounds, and differences. Empathy is the foundation of meaningful connection.
-
We celebrate the richness of diverse voices, cultures, and perspectives. Stories from all walks of life make the world more vibrant and inclusive.
-
Storytelling is an art form, and creativity opens the door for voices to be expressed in unique, powerful ways. We encourage expression through writing, photography, and other forms of art.
-
Our work reaches across borders, fostering relationships between people and communities worldwide. We believe sharing stories is one of the strongest ways to unite the world.
Our Founder
“I started Inspires after a trip to India, where I worked with undervalued girls to help them share their own stories. When I returned to the U.S., I continued this mission at The Newcomers School in Greensboro, NC – guiding the international students to also tell their own stories.
At the same time, racial tensions in the U.S. made me want to create something that built empathy and celebrated diversity. That led to my first book, Welcome, inspired by my travels, encouraging us all to welcome others and listen to their stories.”
